Address Change If you are moving within British Columbia, you can use this website to electronically send change of address information to: Medical Services Plan, B.C. driver's licence, Insurance Corporation of B.C. Community Access Terminals (CATs) are available in Service BC centres.  These terminals provide improved access to the government programs and services where the public can go to use the Internet to obtain government information, make application to government programs electronically and access a wide variety of information pertaining to all levels of government. Ambulance Billings   Service BC centres accept payments for ambulance billings and can make enquiries on your behalf. In Person
Angling e-Licensing This web site allows to purchase and pay online for a freshwater fishing licence for recreational purposes. Community Access Terminals (CATs) are available in Service BC centres.  These terminals provide improved access to the government programs and services where the public can go to use the Internet to obtain government information, make application to government programs electronically and access a wide variety of information pertaining to all levels of government.

Service BC centres also sell licences and permits directly to the public.

BC Assessment Information BC Assessment evaluates and classifies real property (land) and improvements (buildings, machinery, etc.) for the purposes of real property taxation. 
BC Assessment records are public and may be searched in any assessment office.
Service BC centres provide computerized assessment search information to the public, Crown, Crown agencies and taxing authorities.

All Service BC centres are able to conduct a search with a title number, parcel identifier number, legal description or a registered owner's name.

BC Courts The Court Services Branch is responsible for providing timely and equitable access to all patrons of the various levels of courts in British Columbia, including provincial, county, supreme and the BC Court of Appeal. Service BC centres:
  • respond to telephone and general enquiries from the public.
  • provide the public with information packages on small claims court.
  • provide statistical information to the nearest court administrator.
  • fax copies of any dispute to the appropriate court registry.
Service BC centres do not accept or account for restitution, trust fines, federal fines or municipal fines. Cheques or money orders in payment of these fines can be accepted and forwarded to the appropriate court registry. In these cases, the customer is advised that the Service BC Centre does not accept responsibility for transmission of the funds, and they are not counted as received until in possession of the appropriate court.

BC Government Publications Index The Publications Index provides quick and easy access to Government of British Columbia publications, participating School Districts and Alberta Trades Learning Modules. Community Access Terminals (CATs) are available in Service BC centres. These terminals provide improved access to the government programs and services where the public can go to use the Internet to obtain government information, make application to government programs electronically and access a wide variety of information pertaining to all levels of government. BC Stats BC Stats provides a variety of services ranging from producing monthly or quarterly reports with data tables and an article reporting on a current issue of relevance, to custom work provided on a fee-for-service basis.
BC Stats publications are available on paper or electronically covering a wide range of topics such as population, labour market, business and economics.

BC Hydro   Service BC Centres accept payments for BC Hydro billings.   In Person
Bingo Licences   Service BC Centres have application forms for Class "A" events (those which do not fit the criteria for "B" above) which must be mailed to the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch in Victoria for processing.

Please allow eight to twelve weeks for processing an "A" licence.

Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates The Vital Statistics Agency also issues certificates pertaining to Change of Name services, Marriage Licences, Vital Statistics in BC, Wills, Notices and Searches. Service BC centres carry out the responsibilities of their appointments, maintain a supply of forms for all Vital Statistics functions;
direct requests for information to their Vital Statistics regional manager as required;
direct deposits through the Revenue Management System of all vital statistics revenue - certificates, change of name revenue and will search fees; the only exception is adoption reunion registry fees;
provide information on where similar services may be obtained on vital statistics events which occurred in other provinces and countries.

Boater Safety   Service BC centres are a point of sale location for home study boater safety packages and will proctor and mark Canadian Coast Guard approved exams. In Person

Canada Customs and Revenue Agency  The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) administers:
the tax laws for the Government of Canada and for most provinces and territories; and various social and economic benefit and incentive programs delivered through the tax system.

Canada Student Loans  The Canada Student Loans Program provides loans and grants to Canadians attending a university, college, trade school, or vocational school, if they need help financing their education. Community Access Terminals (CATs) are available in Service BC centres.  These terminals provide improved access to the government programs and services where the public can go to use the Internet to obtain government information, make application to government programs electronically and access a wide variety of information pertaining to all levels of government. Canadian Coast Guard  The Canadian Coast Guard web site provides information on the Coast Guard service levels and fleet information. Community Access Terminals (CATs) are available in Service BC centres. These terminals provide improved access to the government programs and services where the public can go to use the Internet to obtain government information, make application to government programs electronically and access a wide variety of information pertaining to all levels of government. Canadian Consumer Information Agency   The Federal Government Office of Consumer Affairs provides a single website with the very best consumer information, tools and services available. The Canadian Consumer Information Gateway is a strategic partnership between more than 400 federal departments and agencies, provincial and territorial ministries and Non-Government partners. Charitable Gaming The "B" licence application fee is $25.00.
Only charitable or religious organizations may be licensed to conduct gaming events. To be considered charitable, organizations must be non-profit and exist primarily for public service or community benefit.
Gaming proceeds may only be used for charitable or religious purposes within British Columbia.
Service BC centres provide assistance for those wishing to apply for "B" and "D" gaming licences for local charitable events (bingo, ticket raffle, special occasion casino and wheel of fortune) where gross sales for all events in one year do not exceed $20,000. Online / In Person
Child Care Search Parents can search for licensed child care facilities by city, by postal code and by licence category using the new child care search tool. Child Care Subsidy Program The Child Care Subsidy is a monthly payment that helps British Columbia families meet the costs of child care. A calculation that takes into account your income and family size determines eligibility. Service BC centres will assist care providers by accepting and forwarding documents to the Child Care Subsidy service centre. Online / In Person
Citizenship and Immigration Canada  The Citizenship and Immigration web site provides information on Canada's immigrant programs. Commissioner for Taking Affidavits

Commissioners for Taking Affidavits for British Columbia are appointed pursuant to the Evidence Act. Subject to the restrictions set out in the Evidence Act, a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits for British Columbia is empowered to administer oaths and take affidavits, declarations and affirmations concerning:
any cause, proceeding, matter or thing before the Supreme Court or any other Court in the province.
any matter requiring an oath, affidavit, affirmation, solemn declaration or statutory declaration be sworn, affirmed, declared or made.
The Evidence Act is administered by the Ministry of Attorney General. Appointments of Commissioner for Taking Affidavits for British Columbia are made by order of the Attorney General.
Government Agents and Deputy Government Agents are, by virtue of their appointments, Commissioners for Taking Affidavits for British Columbia. The Commissioner for Taking Affidavits for British Columbia appointment expires with the termination of the Government Agent or Deputy Government Agent.

Service BC employees, other than Government Agents and Deputy Government Agents, may be appointed Commissioners for Taking Affidavits for British Columbia pursuant to Section 56 of the Evidence Act. Limitations imposed on appointment under this section may include a specified date and other conditions as set forth in the appointment order.

Consumer Taxes This section will provide you information about the various consumer tax programs run by the Ministry of Small Business and Revenue: hotel room tax, motor fuel tax, provincial sales tax, and tobacco tax. Service BC centres provide hotel room tax, registration, vendor registration, and remittance forms.  Offices also accept monthly remittances for sales tax and assist with any problems or inquiries.
Sales tax numbers are generally not transferable to new business owners.
Should a liquor licence be required, a vendor number must first be issued.

The Corporate Registry provides the legal framework and files documents for the incorporation, registration, maintenance and dissolution of companies, societies and co-operatives active in British Columbia.
Forms to register a society or a partnership/proprietorship are available from your local Service BC Centre. Various Service BC Centres stock Self-Counsel Press forms to register a limited or incorporated company, however, if your local office does not sell Self-Counsel Press Publications, you will be able to obtain these forms from a stationary store. A name search may be conducted at a Service BC Centre, and usually takes one working day to finalize the transaction. In Person

Crown Land Registry The Crown Land Registry Information System (CLRIS) is a computerized record of Land Act surface encumbrance information for Crown land in British Columbia. Service BC Centres:
  • provide computerized Crown land status information to the public
  • when available, carry copies of lists of Crown land currently available to the public for purchase, lease, etc.
  • If a published list is not available, staff will provide the public with contact addresses and telephone numbers for the land office managing the area of interest.

Crown Publications  Crown Publications offers for sale a wide variety of special interest books. Also offered for sale are code books and current copies of all B. C. Acts and Regulations. Service BC Centres have a copy of the Crown Publications catalogue together with a current price list. In Person
